Top "New-Psych" Albums

Fortunately 60s psychedelic is brought back to life in many different ways. What might have started with Bands like Spacemen 3 and The Brian Jonestown Massacre has now become a trend that is more or less still Underground. This is a list of SOME of the greatest musical achievements from 1980s until nowerdays.

Spacemen 3 - The Perfect Prescription (1987)

Members: Jason PierceJon Mattock, Mark Refoy, Pete Bain, Pete Kember, Sterling Roswell, Tim Morris

In our oppinion there best ever record, "The Perfect Prescription" offers a lot of what Spacemen 3 are known for. Bringing the old sound into modern times in a way that is both well known but also completely new to the listener. Definetly a Must-Hear!

The Brian Jonestown Massacre - Take It From The Man! (1996)

Anton NewcombeDan AllaireDawn ThomasDean TaylorHunter CrowleyJeff LevitzJoel GionMatt Hollywood,Miranda Lee RichardsPeter HayesRick Maymi

To be honest, all we can say about this Album is just "Wow!". Somewhat Trendsetters in modern day Psychedelic Rock, The Brian Jonestown Massacre with Mastermind Anton Newcombe are just the right thing if you are looking for that kind of music. Although they got a lot of great records, this one definitely stands out. Lucky enough "Straight Up And Down" became the Title Track of the Tv-Series "Boardwalk Empire" and of course for a reason. Inspirational for loads of Bands that tried or are trying to follow in their footsteps, it seems kind of impossible to us that one would achieve anything like it. Pure genius!

Dead Meadow - Shivering Kings And Others (2003)

Cory ShaneJason SimonMark LaughlinStephen McCartySteve Kille

Dead Meadow mixes psychedelic influences with a bit of Stoner-Rock, yet in a way that isn't quite like the sound one would except from this confluence. The Fact that a simple Guitar, Bass and Drum-Set-Up produce such a wall of sound is astonishing.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - B.R.M.C. (2001)

Leah ShapiroNick JagoPeter HayesRobert Levon Been

The Debut Album greatest piece of art this band has produced until "Specter At The Feast", BRMC managed to put something into the Sound of the likes of BJM or Spacemen 3 that has more to offer then just Delay and Reverb. Definitely 100% reccomendable to the young and the elder. And great stuff to drive a motorbike on 200 miles an hour!

The Allah-Las - Self Titled (2012)

Miles Michaud, Pedrum Siadatian, Spencer Dunham, Matthew Correia
Somewhat Newcomers, "The Allah-Las" debut album sounds like a mixture of desert and sea, which also sums up the variety of songs the record has to offer. Their surfy, psychy, bluesy Rock and those soft vocals take you into a land of its own. Produced by Nick Waterhouse, one can hope for much more to come from those guys.
